Creative Director and Editorial Lead | Anthropic

Everett Katigbak was the first designer and Brand Creative Director at Anthropic, now focusing on editorial and storytelling behind the company's groundbreaking research. His career brings humanity to technology's leading edges through a unique, counterintuitive approach: while tech pushes toward digital abstraction, his work anchors brands in tangible human experiences and authentic voice.

At early Facebook (pre-Meta), he crafted emotional narratives when everyone was focused on scale, and established the Analog Research Laboratory—a counterculture art studio that infused a human perspective within the digital giant. As Pinterest's first Brand Manager, he helped transform a simple moodboard into a global inspiration engine connecting people with real-world ideas. At Stripe, he reimagined how fintech could engage with culture through thoughtful publishing and narrative work.

Beyond design, Everett produces films, including the upcoming "American Pachuco," a feature length documentary about Luis Valdez set to premiere on American Masters in 2026. He holds a degree in Communication Design with distinction from ArtCenter College of Design.

Analog Intelligence: Bringing Human Stories to Digital Frontiers

In a world obsessed with metrics, algorithms, and digital abstractions, the most successful technology brands connect through deeply human stories. Drawing from his journey as an early designer at Facebook, Pinterest, Stripe, and now Anthropic, Everett Katigbak will reveal how counterintuitive "analog intelligence" has been the secret ingredient in humanizing revolutionary technology companies.

At Facebook, when everyone focused on the scale of the social graph, Everett pushed narratives about connecting with friends and family. At Pinterest, he transformed a platform typecast as a "wedding site" into an inspiration engine for real-life creativity. At Stripe, while others discussed payment processing, he helped create Stripe Press to explore the profound intersection of culture and commerce. Now at Anthropic, Everett applies these lessons to one of technology's most challenging frontiers: crafting a human-centered narrative for AI.

This talk will explore how maintaining authentic human voice in creative work isn't just good design—it's essential strategy for technology companies seeking to build meaningful connections with their users. Discover how looking backward to analog principles can paradoxically help us move forward in our increasingly digital world.
