With extensive international experience across France, Switzerland, and Japan, Cho Hyun-ouk is recognized as a pioneering leader in Korea’s luxury industry. As one of the first-generation executives to lead global luxury brands in Korea, he played a pivotal role in establishing and expanding the market presence of Louis Vuitton and the broader LVMH Group in the country over nearly three decades.
Cho joined Louis Vuitton in June 1994, initially working at the France office before being appointed President of Louis Vuitton Korea later that same year. Over the next 23 years, he led Louis Vuitton Korea, significantly contributing to the development of the Korean luxury market.
In 2000, he was appointed President of LVMH Group Korea—overseeing brands such as Louis Vuitton, Céline, Christian Lacroix, Fendi, and Loewe—and later served as CEO of Louis Vuitton Korea from 2002 to 2016.
Following the establishment of LVMH Korea Holdings in 2017, he served as President until November 2024. Currently, he continues to contribute to the growth of LVMH brands in Korea as a consultant. As of 2024, Korea ranked 4th in total sales among all LVMH Group markets worldwide.
